 Welcome to my blog!

I am stepping out of my comfort zone and exposing my inner most thoughts with you, my readers.  (Is someone really reading this?)  What I know is we do not grow in our comfort zone, we only grow in that place of fear and uncertainty.  I am definitely afraid and uncertain but I am excited to be facing the fear and doing it anyways. If you have a dream, or passion it is important to invest time and energy into that passion.  Life is way to short to not do what you love.  In my blog we will talk about ways to experience growth, be present in the moment, and step out of your comfort zone. So let’s do this!

Another main focus of my blog, besides personal growth and encouraging you to grow with me is sharing with you my weight loss journey. Food and I have had a love hate relationship since I was 10 years old.  That is how long I have been aware of my weight issues.  Since adulthood I have lost the weight and gained it back several times. I am currently going through yet another weight loss journey.  This time has got to be my last time though.  I cannot keep doing this to myself and quite frankly I am not getting any younger.  My body needs taken care of if I am going to stick around and enjoy an eventful life.  I have already been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, borderline diabetes and fatty liver.  I am 38 people! This is no bueno!  So just to get real with you I need to lose 120 lbs!  To look at me you might not think so, but yes, I am carrying a whole other person around with me on my 5 foot body.  

So what am I doing about this? I joined Weight Watchers in January of 2015 at my work.  When I do the program it works.  I have lost 37 lbs since I started. In that time I have stayed on track and done really well, but sometimes I let my emotions take over and do really bad.  It’s okay though this is a journey and I had to experience those pitfalls so I can help you not go through them.  Or if you do go through them then I am here to tell you it is okay.  You just pick yourself back up and keep going. Do not ever give up!  

So here on my blog you will find tips and tricks to help you stay the course, even when you don’t feel like it. You do not have to be on Weight Watchers to lose weight, you can talk to your doctor about a good way to approach weight loss for you. What I can tell you is that the most important part of weight loss is don’t go it alone.  It is better when you have support from people who have been through it or are going through it. If you are on the same journey let’s do it together and share our struggles and successes!
